It finally happened. The Carson Wentz saga is now over as the Philadelphia Eagles have traded him to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a 2021 third-round pick and a conditional 2022 second-round pick that could turn into a first.

Rumors were circulating that Wentz might be holding up a potential trade to the Chicago Bears. Now that he's landed in Indianapolis for what seems like pennies on the dollar, the internet and Twitter have started to react.

Twitter reacts to Carson Wentz being traded to the Colts

NFL fans have been waiting to see where Wentz would land for weeks now, and reactions have started to roll in.

Some fans and media see it as a great move particularly for the quarterback, who will have the opportunity to revive his career with an already solid roster to work with.

Wentz gets a fresh start in a place that most think is the best place for him. Very good defense, excellent O Line, good backs, young skill guys & a coach he won't have 'relationship issues' with. If it doesn't work here it won't work anywhere. The Colts' 'Luck' may be changing.

Carson Wentz to Indy was really, from the start, the only place that made sense. Frank Reich's work w him in past major factor and can help restore his confidence and rhythm.

Others see it as Wentz being devalued in the market and the Colts getting away with robbery.

That is … not a lot. Wow. Market really wasn't there for Wentz https://t.co/jZ4TRmDcfe

I'm amazed Eagles even got this much to offload Wentz after that season and with that contract. https://t.co/mYfenHv0Wg

According to reports, the Eagles will receive the 85th-overall pick in the 2021 draft, and the conditional second-rounder can become a first-round pick based on Wentz's playing time next season. They've gotten rid of him and now can usher in the Jalen Hurts era of football in Philadelphia.

Wentz will rejoin his former offensive coordinator in Philadelphia, now Colts head coach Frank Reich. He'll attempt to get his career back on track after throwing for 16 touchdowns against 15 interceptions and ultimately being benched last season.

We'll have to wait and see which team fares better as the draft and 2021 NFL season approaches.

The Chicago Bears are reportedly on the verge of acquiring Carson Wentz from the Philadelphia Eagles, and Twitter had some thoughts.

It seems as though NFL quarterback moves always takes place on Saturday evenings. From the news of Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions agreeing to part ways to the bombshell report of Stafford being sent to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for quarterback Jared Goff and prospects. Of course, more signal caller news has broken, and it involves Carson Wentz.

According to Natalie Egenolf of NBC Sports Philadelphia and 97.5 The Fanatic, the Philadelphia Eagles and the Chicago Bears are close to a deal that would send Wentz to the Windy City in exchange for a first-round pick, running back Tarik Cohen and quarterback Nick Foles.

Of course, Twitter had some thought on this news.

Bears fans fantasizing about Deshaun Watson and then getting Carson Wentz sounds about right. When will it end

Before I say this, I understand that I am subject to scrutiny. I do not mind Carson Wentz coming to the Bears.

No bias involved- but I have never really been a fan of Carson wentz. I think it's a big mistake if the bears trade for him.

Another team has found their franchise qb and the Bears are out here trading for Carson Wentz bc they whiffed on the Trubisky pick. https://t.co/BUSqiBM8hZ

Part of me wants the Eagles NOT to trade Carson cause I think he's better for the long-term future of the team.

The other part is cause I dropped $100+ on a stitched Wentz jersey a few years back pic.twitter.com/gj3Rjxb0fw

Reports earlier indicated Wentz's exit from Philly was looming

Earlier on Saturday, ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen reported that the Eagles are expected to trade Wentz in 'the coming days,' but it was a matter of which team would do it. In fact, the rumor was that the Eagles were hoping to land a 'Matthew Stafford package' in return. Considering Wentz was coming off a rather abysmal campaign and is just walking into his four-year, $128 million contract, that was out of the picture. This reported deal shows that.

The Bears are trying to get past the Mitchell Trubisky debacle, where the team selected him over the likes of Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes in the 2017 NFL Draft. With head coach Matt Nagy and general manager Ryan Pace having their jobs guaranteed for the 2021 season, they needed to fix their quarterback dilemma. The hope is, obviously, Wentz can thrive in a situation outside of Philadelphia and help lead the Bears back to the playoffs with the goal of making a deep run.

As for the Eagles, gaining the additional first-round pick is huge. This is a team that finished dead last in the NFC East and have various positions of need. Could they select a quarterback in the upcoming draft? Sure. Could they opt to stick with Jalen Hurts? Of course. Either way, general manager Howie Roseman and head coach Nick Sirianni have choices.

Additionally, Philadelphia gets one of the better pass-catching running backs in the league in Cohen and the man who helped them win their first Lombardi Trophy in Foles.

Even with the deal not finalized, you can always count on all Twitter users sharing their opinions.
